If you go down to the woods today.....

This royal celebration began with making cucumber sandwiches and heading down to Pilton to Matt and Ollie's to watch the ceremony

On the way back to bath we stopped off in the wood on Manor Farm, where we may be keeping the Shepherd's hut - to see the bluebell's..
and had to jump over stream's...

Then make a wish.....................and home for home-made Pimm's and an afternoon nap

Easter lunch inspiration

These lily of the valley were identical to my bouquet for my wedding last year - I picked these from our garden, they smell gorgeous, like the smell of fresh sheets on the bed.. The flowers are little bell shapes, they grow wild at the top of our garden - i think they like the shade, and completely cover the ground with their big leaves so it's great not to have to dig the garden when they are in season, which is just once a year..
I also picked a selection of other pretty flowers from the garden that I'm not familiar with, but cut and arranged in old tins and jam jars looked so spring like to decorate the table for Easter
And the table underneath Richard's old sail from his boat to keep us in the shade

Bed and Breakfast

Tom made some steps out of rusty old floor boards and off cuts of wood
Our set of wheels to the shepherds hut!
My working zone
Wood charred bacon and egg roll ups for breakfast
Tom doing the finishing touches to the bed, that's recycled from old futon slats.. This isn't any old bed, its called a "rock'n'roll bed, you pull the back rope and it converts into a sofa/bench for daytime and reading

The Hunting lodge look..

Found yesterday these wall mounted animal skulls for the walls of the shepherds hut, they will look great against the pale chalk white paint inside.. Borrowed from hunting lodge/ country estate look..to my "shed on wheels".... It makes it feel rustic without having to have the huge manor house to create this style. Using decorative items is all about the detail and the fun in finding them.

Painting, Picnicing,and Pottering

Breakfast at the shepherd's hut on a Sunday morning!

Painting the tongue and groove panelling inside and out is pretty, practical and timeless even with undercoat and primer... This is just the first coat - paint to follow next weekend!
Lucy,Tessa and Tom having cup of tea and lemon drizzle cake, it's a tradition at Manor Farm..

Hut chic

My birthday present from Tom on Thursday was this charming shepherd's hut that he made from scratch - he firstly bought 4 wheels from a scrap-yard in Pyle... then the rest followed.... Today i am starting to paint it, undercoat primer first and putting the table in.... We have packed a basket for breakfast - April is GREAT so far!!!
