Hanging up my scissors

First week of maternity leave.

I knew I had a-lot to give up leaving my salon after 5 years of it being my baby and the success it has been, no-one will ever understand the amount of hard work that goes into it, and it looks seemless to everyone else involved. However the time has come and I actually feel ready now, and trust my colleagues to look after it while I'm away.. I will be back!!

From this ....

and this....
To this...!!!

I have made plans for a temporary nursery (as we live in a townhouse on 5 floors) downstairs, where I will be spending most of the day and one on the top floor when the baby is 6months +

This is the downstairs where I can share my office/desk with baby.. The view from my desk for the next few weeks.
I have collected these old baskets and Tom has made the changing table from our old pedicure booths in the salon. My friends all say, poor baby will have splinters in it's bum, but when my brother and I were growing up, my dad made everything, mainly from metal, and the odd wood worm chunk of wood that he crafted into bunk beds for us, but I turned out alright!

So far i am 38 weeks and my bump is all up front, i have put on 9LBS so I can mainly fit into my clothes (if not Tom's shirt's) this is my latest bump photo..

  1. The nursery is beautiful - a few splinters are character forming anyway ;0)
I wish you all the best for the birth and look forward to reading all about your new little person soon. Emma x

  2. Beautiful nursery! My husband made a cot top changer for us from an old chest of drawers and we were given our cotbed; it felt good to reuse rather than buy new.
Good luck welcoming your new arrival!
